Musk Airborne Shanghai, Devil Dance Steps to Deliver the Domestic Tesla Model 3
On January 7, 2020, the China-made Tesla Model 3 achieved large-scale delivery, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk took a private plane to attend the ceremony at the Shanghai factory.
This is Tesla delivering the first batch of China-made Model 3 to social car owners. Musk danced happily before the delivery ceremony.
During the ceremony, Wu Qing, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, announced that Tesla's domestically produced Model Y model has officially started production at the Shanghai Super Factory.

"2019 was an incredible year for Tesla," Musk said in his speech.
Musk repeatedly emphasized the strong support for this collaboration in his speech:
“As the largest foreign-invested project and the first wholly foreign-owned automobile factory, Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory is highly anticipated.Without the support of the Shanghai Municipal Government, such a miracle would not have been possible.Thanks to Shanghai's favorable business environment, Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory was able to be built smoothly and delivered quickly."
Tesla officials said: So far, 1,000 vehicles have been produced and delivered, and the production rate has reached more than 3,000 units per week, excluding local battery packs that only began production in late December.

Tesla sent out a Weibo post today:
"When Musk first came here a year ago, it was still a wasteland. Today, a year later, it has become a Tesla super factory that can produce 3,000 Model 3s per week."
Looking back at Tesla’s entry into China:
May 2018:Tesla completed its company registration in Shanghai with a registered capital of RMB 100 million;
July 2018:Musk personally went to Shanghai to sign an agreement with the Shanghai Municipal Government, and Tesla's settlement in Shanghai was officially finalized;
October 2018:Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. officially announced that it had acquired an industrial land in Pudong New Area for 937 million yuan;
January 2019:Tesla's Shanghai factory officially broke ground;
December 2019:Tesla delivered the first batch of Model 3 produced at its Shanghai Gigafactory to 15 internal employees.
It was all smooth sailing that enabled the miracle of production and delivery to be achieved in 12 months.
By the end of this year, all parts of the domestically produced Tesla Model 3 will be replaced by localized ones. Currently, the localization rate of parts in Tesla's Shanghai factory is about 30 %, and it is planned to increase to 70%-80 % by July next year.
