EEG Eye State Data Set is a public electroencephalogram (EEG) dataset that contains instances of EEG measurements whose output is whether the eyes are open or closed. This dataset consists of a continuous EEG measurement, using the Emotiv EEG Neuroheadset device, which lasted 117 seconds. The eye state was detected by using a camera during the EEG measurement and manually added to the file after analyzing the video frames. The values in the dataset are arranged in chronological order, where 0 indicates the eyes are open and 1 indicates the eyes are closed. The dataset contains 14 EEG measurements, labeled AF3, F7, F3, FC5, T7, P, O1, O2, P8, T8, FC6, F4, F8, AF4.

This dataset was originally published by Oliver Rösler and David Suendermann in 2013 and published in the paperA First Step towards Eye State Prediction Using EEGThe dataset was used to train a machine learning algorithm to predict eye states, which could be useful for applications such as developing EEG-based brain-computer interface (BCI) systems.
