Enterprises Must Embed AI at Core to Reimagine Future, HFS Research and LTIMindtree Report Warns
A new report by HFS Research in collaboration with LTIMindtree reveals that enterprises must move beyond superficial AI experimentation and embed artificial intelligence at the core of their operations to drive meaningful transformation. The study, titled “Enterprises must embrace AI to reimagine their future, not tinker in the margins,” finds that 83% of Global 2000 business and technology leaders are still in early stages of AI adoption, despite increasing pressure to modernize and innovate. Based on insights from over 500 executives across five major industries, the research shows that while operational efficiency remains the primary driver for AI investment, only 17% of companies have fully integrated AI across their entire enterprise. The report argues that true value comes not from isolated pilots or minor gains, but from reimagining business models, processes, and customer experiences through AI. Phil Fersht, CEO and Chief Analyst at HFS Research, stressed the urgency: “Most enterprises are still tinkering at the edges while pretending they’re transforming. They’re not. If AI isn’t central to how a business operates, competes, and creates value, it will become irrelevant within three years. The leaders aren’t waiting—they’re dismantling outdated thinking and making AI a shared responsibility across the organization, not just an IT initiative.” To guide this shift, the report introduces the Reimagination, Reinvention, and Relevance (R-R-R) framework—a practical model for assessing AI maturity and driving strategic transformation. This framework breaks down abstract concepts into actionable steps, offering enterprises a clear path from experimentation to enterprise-wide impact. LTIMindtree’s BlueVerse platform is highlighted as an example of how service providers can support this journey by enabling scalable, trustworthy, and high-impact AI deployment. Rohan Kulkarni, Executive Research Leader at HFS Research and lead author of the report, emphasized the shift in tone: “This isn’t about hype. It’s about execution. The R-R-R framework turns the AI conversation from theory into a practical blueprint for real-world change.” The report also reflects a broader transformation in the IT services industry, where providers are evolving from offering generic AI tools to delivering strategic, outcome-driven transformation. Enterprises are now elevating AI to the boardroom, re-architecting their operating models, and redefining success metrics. Venu Lambu, CEO and Managing Director of LTIMindtree, noted the growing demand for deeper integration: “Our joint research shows that AI’s real power lies in orchestrating value across ecosystems and unlocking new forms of innovation. At LTIMindtree, we help clients move from proof-of-concept to enterprise-scale transformation with speed, trust, and measurable impact.” The findings underscore a pivotal moment for organizations: AI is no longer optional, and incremental progress is no longer enough. To stay competitive, enterprises must treat AI as a foundational force for reinvention—reimagining not just how they work, but how they deliver value in a rapidly changing world.
