C3 AI Appoints Stephen Ehikian as New CEO to Drive Enterprise AI Growth and Innovation
C3 AI (NYSE: AI), the enterprise AI application software company, has announced the appointment of Stephen Ehikian as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2025. Ehikian, a seasoned technology leader with a proven track record in building and scaling AI-driven enterprise software companies, will lead the organization as it expands its role in the global AI landscape. Thomas M. Siebel will continue to serve as Executive Chairman. Ehikian brings extensive experience from his previous leadership roles, including co-founding and scaling RelateIQ and Airkit.ai, both of which were acquired by Salesforce. RelateIQ became the foundation for Salesforce Einstein, while Airkit.ai is now a core part of Salesforce Agentforce. Most recently, he served as Acting Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), where he advanced the federal government’s technology infrastructure, implemented the President’s AI Action Plan, and modernized procurement systems. In his new role, Ehikian expressed confidence in C3 AI’s platform and mission. “I am honored to join C3 AI at such a pivotal time in the AI era,” he said. “C3 AI is one of the most important companies in the AI landscape and enterprise software, with a platform and applications that are unmatched. I am confident that we will be able to capture an increasing share of the immense market opportunity in Enterprise AI.” Industry leaders have praised the appointment. Dr. Condoleezza Rice, former U.S. Secretary of State and C3 AI board member, highlighted Ehikian’s unique blend of entrepreneurial drive, technical expertise, and public service experience. General (Ret.) John Hyten, former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, emphasized his ability to advance AI in national security and government systems. Jim Hagemann Snabe, Chairman of Siemens and former co-CEO of SAP, noted Ehikian’s capacity to build future-forward companies and lead the evolution of agentic AI. Thomas M. Siebel, Executive Chairman, said the appointment represents a strategic alignment of talent and vision. “Under the leadership of Stephen Ehikian, we have the rare combination of the right person, at the right company, in the right market, at the right time,” he said. C3 AI’s offerings include the C3 Agentic AI Platform, a comprehensive system for building and operating enterprise AI applications; a suite of industry-specific SaaS applications; and C3 Generative AI, a set of domain-focused generative AI solutions for enterprises. The company cautioned that the announcement includes forward-looking statements about market opportunity, leadership, and future performance, which are subject to risks including customer concentration, sales cycle length, integration challenges, and market adoption. These statements are based on current expectations but could differ materially due to unforeseen factors. C3 AI continues to position itself as a leader in enterprise AI, with a focus on transforming industries through scalable, secure, and intelligent software solutions.
