AWS and HUMAIN Launch AI Zone in Riyadh with NVIDIA Infrastructure, Scaling Global AI Innovation and Talent Development
Amazon Web Services (AWS) and HUMAIN, a company owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), have announced an expanded strategic partnership to accelerate global AI innovation. The collaboration centers on the development of a first-of-its-kind AI Zone in Riyadh, which will host up to 150,000 AI accelerators. This advanced data center facility will leverage the latest NVIDIA GB300 AI infrastructure and AWS’s custom Trainium AI chips to support high-performance AI training and inference workloads. As part of the agreement, AWS will become HUMAIN’s preferred global AI partner. The two companies will work together to deliver AI compute and services from Saudi Arabia to customers worldwide. The AI Zone will provide secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure for cutting-edge AI applications, enabling organizations to move quickly from concept to production. Customers will gain immediate access to leading generative AI services through AWS’s platform, including Amazon Bedrock, Amazon AgentCore, and Amazon SageMaker. Amazon Bedrock simplifies model access by abstracting infrastructure management, allowing users to focus on building applications without handling underlying hardware. The integration of NVIDIA’s latest AI software with AWS’s infrastructure ensures seamless, high-efficiency performance. HUMAIN will join the AWS Solution Provider Program, enabling it to deliver AWS services through a unified platform. This will help accelerate AI adoption across the Middle East and beyond. The partnership builds on a prior commitment announced in May 2025 to invest over $5 billion in AI infrastructure, services, and talent development in Saudi Arabia. Tanuja Randery, Managing Director of AWS for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, highlighted the significance of the collaboration. She emphasized that the AI Zone will serve as a world-class innovation hub, combining local expertise with global scale. The partnership will support digital transformation across government and business, backed by AWS’s deep technical capabilities and HUMAIN’s regional insight. Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, described the AI Zone as the start of a multi-gigawatt journey. He noted the partnership’s unique commercial model and shared vision for global market expansion, designed to create a powerful ecosystem for building, deploying, and scaling AI innovations worldwide. Beyond infrastructure, the collaboration includes initiatives to drive AI adoption across Saudi Arabia’s public and private sectors. The companies will develop advanced Arabic Large Language Models, including HUMAIN’s “ALLAM,” an Arabic-first LLM built in the Arab world. They also plan to launch a unified AI agent marketplace for government services. To build a sustainable AI workforce, AWS will train 100,000 Saudi citizens through the Amazon Academy in partnership with PIF. An additional upskilling program will train 10,000 women, supporting Saudi Arabia’s goal to become a global AI leader. These efforts align with the nation’s vision for an AI-powered economy expected to contribute $130 billion to GDP by 2030. The AI Zone represents a major step in expanding global AI capacity while advancing local economic and technological development.
