Adobe acquires Indian marketing intelligence startup Rilo

Adobe has acquired Rilo, an India-based marketing intelligence startup, in a transaction encompassing intellectual property licensing and team integration. The deal marks Adobe’s second purchase from the Indian market, following its 2023 acquisition of video platform Rephrase.ai, and accelerates the company’s strategic push into AI-driven marketing automation. Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 2025 by IIT graduates Dhruv Jaglan and Georgi Boby, Rilo had secured one million dollars in seed funding from PeakXV, DeVC, and Day Zero Ventures at a ten million dollar valuation. The acquisition delivers a six-member engineering and product team alongside proprietary technology designed to automate complex go-to-market workflows. Rilo’s platform enables marketing and sales organizations to construct custom automation pipelines for competitor intelligence, content repurposing, sales call analysis, and campaign tracking, operating at a functional level comparable to emerging AI-native workflow assistants. Following the transaction, Rilo will cease independent operations, with its technology and personnel integrating directly into Adobe’s enterprise portfolio. The integration targets large enterprise clients navigating increasingly AI-centric campaign management, with the aim of enhancing customer experience and operational productivity within Adobe’s marketing cloud. Investors are expected to realize an exit through the deal. The acquisition follows Adobe’s nineteen hundred million dollar purchase of SEO optimization firm Semrush last year and reinforces its strategy of embedding intelligent automation across its creative and marketing ecosystems. Market analysts view the move as a direct response to intensifying competition in the AI marketing technology sector, where rivals including Canva, alongside tech giants such as Amazon, Google, and Meta, are rapidly deploying proprietary marketing infrastructure. Investors noted that Rilo’s workflow builder was developed ahead of current market demands, positioning its capabilities as a valuable asset for scaling enterprise productivity and platform engagement. Adobe will now focus on embedding Rilo’s automation framework into its existing ecosystem, allowing enterprise customers to streamline campaign creation, deployment, and cross-platform visibility across emerging generative AI interfaces. The integration underscores Adobe’s commitment to consolidating AI-powered marketing infrastructure while maintaining its competitive position in the rapidly evolving enterprise software market.
