Google Expands AI Mode in Search to 40 New Countries and 35+ Languages with Advanced Gemini Models

AI Mode in Google Search is now available in more languages and locations around the world. Starting today, the feature is being expanded to over 35 new languages and more than 40 additional countries and territories. This brings the total reach of AI Mode to over 200 countries and territories, including many across Europe. The rollout is powered by advanced Gemini models specifically designed for Search. These models enable significantly more powerful capabilities, allowing users to ask questions in a natural, conversational way—no matter their language or location. Thanks to improved natural language understanding and multimodal reasoning, AI Mode can now better interpret context, nuance, and intent across diverse linguistic and cultural settings. The custom Gemini model for Search is built to handle the subtleties of local languages, ensuring responses are not only accurate but also culturally relevant and genuinely helpful. This means users can now explore complex topics with greater depth and confidence, regardless of where they are or what language they speak. Early data shows that people using AI Mode are asking questions nearly three times longer than with traditional searches, indicating a shift toward more in-depth, exploratory queries. This reflects a growing trend of users engaging with AI as a tool for deeper understanding and discovery. The expansion will roll out gradually over the next week, with more users gaining access each day. As AI Mode continues to grow, Google aims to make intelligent, natural-language search accessible to people everywhere—breaking down language barriers and delivering meaningful, personalized results.
