Android Unveils Smarter Writing, Emoji Remix, and Seamless Sharing with AI-Powered Updates
Android is introducing several new features designed to make communication smarter, faster, and more creative. These updates are rolling out across devices and include AI-powered writing tools, enhanced emoji customization, easier audio sharing, and a streamlined way to send photos and videos. Gboard now includes AI-driven writing assistance that helps users refine their messages. With just a tap, the tool offers suggestions to adjust tone—making writing more formal, expressive, or concise. It also checks spelling and grammar automatically, and allows users to proofread entire messages with a single action. All processing happens locally on the device, keeping personal data private. The Emoji Kitchen has been updated to make it easier to find and create custom emoji stickers. Users can browse a growing library, save favorites, and discover unique emoji combinations tailored to their style. The feature encourages personal expression by letting people remix and share creative sticker designs. Audio sharing is now more flexible and social. With LE Audio Bluetooth support, users can pair two sets of headphones to one phone, enabling shared listening experiences for music, podcasts, or videos—perfect for travel or casual moments. Additionally, a new QR code-based broadcast feature lets users create private audio streams. Invite friends to join a group listening session, and everyone enjoys the same playlist on their own headphones, turning any gathering into a silent disco. Sending photos and videos has also been simplified. The redesigned Quick Share lets users instantly switch between sending and receiving files, preview content before sharing, and open received files immediately. A new progress indicator shows real-time transfer status, giving users clear feedback on how much of the file has been sent. These updates are available to all Android users, with more details at android.com/updates. Pixel users will also benefit from additional exclusive features. As a fun addition, Androidify now lets users turn their selfies into AI-generated Android bots.
