1,001 Real-World Generative AI Use Cases Transforming Industries Across the Globe

Google Cloud has unveiled an expanded list of 1,001 real-world generative AI use cases from leading global organizations, showcasing how enterprises across industries are leveraging AI to drive efficiency, innovation, and growth. Originally introduced with 101 examples at Google Cloud Next 24, the list has now grown tenfold, reflecting the rapid adoption and integration of generative AI into core business operations. The use cases are organized by industry—such as Automotive, Financial Services, Business and Professional Services, and more—and grouped by six AI agent types: Customer, Employee, Creative, Code, Data, and Security. Many of these implementations are being demonstrated live at the Gemini at Work event. In the automotive sector, Mercedes-Benz is using Gemini via Vertex AI to power its MBUX Virtual Assistant, enabling natural conversations and personalized responses for drivers. Continental is integrating Google’s conversational AI into its Smart Cockpit HPC for safer, smarter in-vehicle experiences. Meanwhile, UPS Capital launched DeliveryDefense Address Confidence, a machine learning tool that predicts delivery success with a confidence score. Rivian and Toyota are using Gemini in Google Workspace to accelerate employee learning, improve productivity, and build internal knowledge bases with tools like NotebookLM. In financial services, Commerzbank is enhancing its customer service with Bene, a chatbot powered by Gemini, which now handles over 2 million chats and resolves 70% of inquiries automatically. Discover Financial uses a generative AI virtual assistant to assist customers and agents across channels. Wells Fargo is deploying Agentspace to streamline internal workflows and improve decision-making. In India, HDFC ERGO uses Vertex AI to deliver personalized insurance offerings and onboarding nudges through its 1Up app. Across industries, organizations are using AI to transform operations. Virgin Voyages uses Veo’s text-to-video features to generate thousands of personalized marketing messages in seconds. Figma enables teams to create brand-compliant visuals and assets instantly. Mercari, Japan’s largest online marketplace, anticipates a 500% ROI and a 20% reduction in employee workload through AI-powered customer service. At Scale AI, Meta’s $14.3 billion investment underscores the strategic importance of high-quality training data for AI development. In the creative space, AdVon Commerce used Gemini and Veo to rework a 93,673-product catalog in under a month—previously a year-long task—boosting sales by 67% and delivering a $17 million revenue lift. Dentsu Digital built its "∞AI" service brand using Vertex AI and PaLM 2, enabling rapid deployment of AI-driven advertising and customer support systems. MONKS used Gemini to craft a personalized ad campaign that achieved an 80% higher click-through rate and a 97% reduction in campaign costs. In data and security, companies like CERC process 100,000 transactions per second using Google Cloud, while Carbon Underwriting reduced data processing from months to days. Lloyds Banking Group slashed mortgage income verification from days to seconds. Intesa Sanpaolo launched a Democratic Data Lab to democratize data access across risk management and other departments. In the code and development space, CME Group reports developers gain at least 10.5 hours per month using Gemini Code Assist. Stack’s AI platform uses Gemini to generate 10–15% of its production code. Rogo, a Wall Street AI platform, reduced hallucination rates from 34.1% to 3.9% and accelerated AI modeling from months to hours. These examples illustrate that generative AI is no longer experimental—it’s operational, scalable, and delivering measurable business value. From automating customer service and accelerating product development to enhancing data analysis and improving employee productivity, AI is becoming embedded in the fabric of enterprise operations worldwide. As organizations continue to innovate, the list of real-world applications will only grow—proving that AI is not just the future, but the present.
