Nvidia Hugging Face Deal Price Encodes Nvidia's Signature Green Color
Nvidia recently announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire AI open-source platform Hugging Face for $12.9303 billion, though the transaction remains pending completion. Following this, Thomas Wolf, co-founder of Hugging Face, hinted that precise figures within the deal amount conceal digital easter eggs corresponding to both brands’ identities. Specifically, the number 129303 represents the decimal value of Unicode code point U+1F917, which corresponds to the emoji used in Hugging Face’s logo. Regarding its second layer of meaning, some netizens previously broke down the digits into 12, 93, and 03, associating them respectively with Nvidia’s IPO price, founding year, and three founders. CEO Clément Delangue subsequently provided color clues by noting that converting these same digits into hexadecimal as #129303 yields a shade of green intended to echo Nvidia. However, #129303 does not match Nvidia’s standard brand color. According to official branding guidelines issued by Nvidia, its designated corporate green is actually #76B900. Therefore, rather than precisely replicating Nvidia's signature hue, the design more accurately leverages similar shades of green to create a subtle nod between the two entities. While details regarding how they plan to integrate remain undisclosed, both parties have publicly affirmed their commitment to maintaining principles such as preserving Hugging Face’s openness ecosystem.
