Labeled Faces in the Wild Dataset is a facial image dataset developed specifically for the study of unconstrained face recognition. The dataset contains more than 13,000 facial images collected from the Internet. Each image is annotated with the name of the person, for a total of 1,680 people. These images were taken by the Viola-Jones face detector.

Labeled Faces in the Wild Dataset was released by the University of Massachusetts Amherst in October 2007. The main publishers were Erik Learned-Miller, Gary B. Huang, Aruni RoyChowdhury, Haoxiang Li and Gang Hua. The related paper is "Labeled Faces in the Wild: A Database for Studying Face Recognition in Unconstrained Environments".
