BIPED stands for Barcelona Images for Perceptual Edge Detection, and contains 250 high-resolution outdoor images with a size of 1280×720 pixels. These images have been split for training and testing. 200 images are used for training and 50 images are used for testing.

The images have been carefully annotated by experts in the field of computer vision, so no redundancy is considered. In addition, all results have been cross-checked multiple times to correct possible errors or false margins caused by only one subject.

This dataset is publicly available for use as a benchmark for evaluating edge detection algorithms.
