Google Announces Initiative to Train 100,000 Electrical Workers and 30,000 Apprentices to Support AI and Clean Energy Growth

Today, Google is announcing a new effort to train 100,000 electrical workers and 30,000 new apprentices in the United States. Through a grant from Google.org to the electrical training ALLIANCE (etA), an organization formed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the National Electrical Contractors Association, etA will integrate AI tools into its curriculum and significantly expand the number of apprenticeships available. Additionally, apprentices will have access to Google's AI Essentials course, enabling them to develop critical AI skills alongside their trade knowledge. Google's financial support aims to increase the electrical workforce pipeline by 70% over the next five years.
