Mitsubishi Electric Enhances Driving Safety with FLEXConnect™ Integrated Safety Cloud

10日前

Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc. (MEAA) and HAAS Alert have announced a strategic partnership to enhance vehicle safety through the integration of MEAA’s FLEXConnect™ system with HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud platform. This collaboration marks a significant step toward the next generation of in-vehicle experiences, focusing on real-time data and personalized alerts to improve road safety. FLEXConnect™, MEAA’s latest cabin monitoring system, was showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2025. The system leverages real-time vehicle data to enhance driver safety and personalization. By integrating FLEXConnect™ with Safety Cloud, MEAA aims to provide drivers with an additional layer of protection. Safety Cloud, HAAS Alert’s proprietary digital alert network, sends real-time safety notifications about emergency vehicles, construction zones, tow trucks, and other active hazards to millions of drivers daily. This technology is already integrated into compatible vehicles from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Volkswagen, as well as navigation apps like Apple Maps and Waze. These notifications help prevent accidents and improve the safety of public and emergency services by alerting drivers to nearby risks instantly. With the new integration, drivers using MEAA's systems will receive these alerts directly through their in-vehicle information system, notifying them of nearby hazards. However, the partnership goes beyond just alerts. When FLEXConnect™ detects that a driver is in an emergency situation, it can automatically notify other nearby drivers via Safety Cloud, warning them about a disabled vehicle ahead. Mohammad Horani, MEAA’s Director of Advanced Development, emphasized the importance of safety in FLEXConnect™, stating, “The core of FLEXConnect™ is safety, which is why Safety Cloud’s digital alerts are the perfect complement to the FLEXConnect™ experience.” Hussein Zaarour, Vice President of Business Development, Connected Vehicles at HAAS Alert, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting, “HAAS Alert is thrilled to partner with Mitsubishi Electric. Their approach to automotive innovation and safety aligns perfectly with HAAS Alert’s mission to make vehicles and roads smarter and safer.” HAAS Alert is dedicated to creating mobility solutions that save lives and improve the safety and intelligence of vehicles and routes. Their vision is a connected world free of traffic accidents where everyone gets home safely. By sending digital alerts about emergency services, municipal and private fleets, construction zones, and connected infrastructure to nearby drivers, HAAS Alert enhances road safety and community well-being. MEAA has a long-standing reputation for reliability, designing high-quality systems for major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide. Recognized for innovative components, MEAA leverages deep technological expertise to offer solutions for autonomous driving, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), high-end audio systems, high-definition displays, and powertrain electronics for standard, electric, and hybrid vehicles. MEAA's culture of innovation and operational excellence extends beyond the automotive industry, positioning the company as a leader in adapting to the future of mobility. Since its establishment in North America in 1979, MEAA now operates in 50 locations across the continent. Industry insiders view this partnership as a pivotal move in the advancing landscape of connected vehicle technologies. The integration of FLEXConnect™ with Safety Cloud not only enhances the immediate safety features available to drivers but also sets the groundwork for more sophisticated, real-time communication systems in the future. This collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for the greater good of road safety and mobility.
