Multiple Drafts Model
Multiple drafts modelIt is a physicalist theory of consciousness based on cognitivism, proposed by Daniel Dennett. The theory views the mind from an information processing perspective. Dennett described the theory in depth in his 1991 book Consciousness Explained. As the title suggests, the book proposes a high-level explanation of consciousness that supports the possibility of strong artificial intelligence.
The model believes that the generation of consciousness is not a single, linear process, but the result of the interaction of multiple parallel neural processes. It emphasizes that the formation of consciousness is achieved through the continuous updating and integration of multiple drafts, which represent different perceptual and cognitive states. It can provide some ideas and inspiration for the simulation of perception, cognition and consciousness in artificial intelligence systems, helping researchers to better understand and build artificial intelligence systems with similar functions.
