Raspberry Pi

Raspberry Pi(English:Raspberry Pi)U.KRaspberry Pi FoundationA miniature single-board computer developed to promote basic computer science education in schools with low-cost hardware and free software. It is a small, low-cost single-board computer the size of a credit card that allows people from all backgrounds and levels of expertise to experience and learn computing. Raspberry Pi is now widely accepted as part of the evolving computer technology. The minicomputer can be connected to other peripheral hardware devices such as a keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.

The Raspberry Pi was launched in 2012, and has since released several iterations and variants. The original Pi had a single-core 700MHz CPU and 256MB of RAM, and the latest model has a quad-core CPU clocked at over 1.5GHz and 4GB of RAM. The Raspberry Pi has always been priced under $100 (usually around $35), most notably the Pi Zero, which sells for just $5.

How the Raspberry Pi Works

The Raspberry Pi is a programmable device. It has all the key functions of a normal computer motherboard, but has no peripherals or internal storage. To set up a Raspberry computer, you need to insert an SD card into the space provided. The SD card should already have an operating system installed that is necessary for the computer to boot. Raspberry computers are compatible with the Linux operating system, which reduces the amount of memory required and creates a versatile environment.

After setting up the operating system, you can connect the Raspberry Pi to output devices such as a computer monitor or High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) TV, and to input devices such as a mouse or keyboard. The specific uses and applications of this small computer are up to the buyer and can cover a wide range of functions.
