Positive Class
Positive CategoryRefers to the expected category in the binary classification problem, and the corresponding category is the negative class Positive Class.
For classifications with two categories, they can be marked as positive and negative, respectively, and can be recorded as 1 and 0 respectively. In practical applications, a category is usually marked as positive or negative, but the positive class is generally used to indicate the presence of certain elements, and the negative class is used to indicate the lack of certain elements.
Application Examples
In problems such as determining whether an email is spam, whether an online transaction is a scam, and whether a tumor is benign or malignant, "spam", "fraud", and "benign tumor" are usually considered positive classes, and the corresponding class is the negative class.
