NVIDIA Teams Up With IREN To Build "AI Factory": $21 Billion Investment Secured at 5 GW Scale

NVIDIA has announced a strategic partnership with U.S.-listed company IREN to jointly accelerate next-generation AI infrastructure development. The two parties plan to deploy up to 5 GW of AI infrastructure based on NVIDIA's DSX architecture globally while collaborating to enhance computing capabilities at DSX AI factories, making compute resources accessible to native AI enterprise customers. Equally impressive transaction details include an option granted by IREN to NVIDIA for five years, allowing it to purchase up to 30 million shares of common stock at $70 per share upon satisfaction of regulatory conditions, representing a maximum total investment value of $2.1 billion. Regarding implementation, future deployments will primarily focus on IREN's 2 GW Sweetwater data center campus in Texas—a project held in high regard as the flagship case study for deploying NVIDIA's DSX architecture. Jensen Huang stated: "AI factories are becoming critical global economic infrastructure, requiring full-stack deep integration spanning computation, networking, software, power supply, and operations. With IREN bringing scale and infrastructure expertise, we can together build the cornerstone of the AI era."
