### Abstract On February 23, 2022, the second meeting of the Management Committee (MC) of the Tsinghua University (Chemical Engineering Department) - Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Branch Medical Membrane Materials Joint Research Center (hereinafter referred to as "Joint Research Center") was held at the Yanshan Petrochemical Reception Center. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yujun, the MC Chairman and Party Secretary of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University. Other key attendees included Cheng Jiayou, Vice President and Chief Engineer of Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Branch (hereinafter referred to as "Yanshan Petrochemical"), Wang Haihui, MC Deputy Chairman and Professor at Tsinghua University, Hu Shengwei, MC Committee Member and General Manager of Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical High-Tech Co., Ltd. During the meeting, Lin Yake, an assistant researcher from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University and a key member of the Joint Research Center, presented a detailed report on the center's progress in 2021. The report highlighted significant advancements in the development of hollow fiber membranes for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), specifically focusing on material selection, preparation strategies, formula screening, and membrane formation processes. Lin also outlined the center's work plan for 2022, including key projects and timelines. The Management Committee expressed high praise for the achievements made by the Joint Research Center in 2021. They unanimously approved the 2021 progress report and the 2022 work plan. The committee emphasized the importance of expediting the construction of the center's experimental base and completing the installation and commissioning of a 100,000 square meters per year melt spinning production line for thermally-induced phase separation (TIPS) polypropylene hollow fiber membranes. Additionally, the committee recommended that the Joint Research Center initiate research on the dimerization of propylene to 4-methyl-1-pentene, the polymerization of 4-methyl-1-pentene to poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) resin, and the preparation of TIPS poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) hollow fiber membranes.
