US Intelligence Memo Says Megaspeed Executive Recruited to Spy on Nvidia CEO
A US intelligence memo circulated earlier this year alleges that technology executive Alice Huang was recruited by China’s Ministry of State Security to spy on Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, according to the New York Times. The Financial Times reported that the memo also claimed Jensen Huang had a romantic relationship with Alice Huang, an executive at Singapore-based company Megaspeed. Nvidia said Jensen Huang’s interactions with Alice Huang were not unusual and that the company does not share classified information with customers. A separate New York Times report examined New Matrix, a Chinese company authorized by the US Commerce Department to purchase advanced Nvidia chips. Reporters found that the address listed for New Matrix appeared to be an empty office space, raising concerns that the company could be acting as a front for a blacklisted private equity firm. Nvidia said it sells the first, best and most of its technology in America.
