Meta Launches Muse Code AI Agent for Large Code Bases

Meta has officially entered the competitive landscape of enterprise artificial intelligence development tools with the beta release of Muse Code, a terminal-based coding agent designed for complex, large-scale software repositories. Announced by Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday, the new tool enables developers to execute complete software engineering workflows, including architectural planning, code generation, and automated validation, directly within their development environment. The agent is built upon Meta's previously unveiled Muse Spark model. To manage the demands of extensive codebases, Muse Code employs a parallel processing architecture that automatically distributes tasks across multiple isolated sub-agents. According to Zuckerberg, this mechanism operates within separate worktrees, ensuring that developers' primary branches remain untouched during concurrent operations.
