Sharon AI to Deploy 1,000-B200 GPU Cluster at NEXTDC M3 in Melbourne Using Lenovo and VAST Data Infrastructure
SharonAI Holdings Inc. and its subsidiaries, a leading Australian Neocloud company, have announced the planned deployment of a 1,000-unit NVIDIA DGX Blackwell B200 cluster at NEXTDC’s Tier IV M3 Data Center in Melbourne, Australia. This strategic move marks a major advancement in building sovereign AI infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region. The deployment is powered by Lenovo’s high-density server infrastructure and VAST Data’s high-performance storage fabric, integrated under Sharon AI’s existing Lenovo TruScale agreement. This flexible, scalable model enables rapid expansion of AI compute capacity while ensuring operational efficiency and reliability. NEXTDC’s M3 facility, designed for extreme performance, offers the necessary power density, advanced cooling, and resilience to support large-scale AI workloads. David Dzienciol, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer at NEXTDC, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in delivering next-generation accelerated computing infrastructure in Australia. The NVIDIA Blackwell B200 platform, equipped with eight Blackwell GPUs connected via fifth-generation NVLink, delivers up to three times the training performance and 15 times the inference performance compared to prior-generation systems. This makes it ideal for training large language models, complex recommender systems, and real-time AI applications. Damien Fox, Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand at VAST Data, emphasized the role of their storage fabric and InsightEngine in eliminating data silos and latency, ensuring the Blackwell GPUs operate at peak efficiency. This enables enterprise, government, and research organizations to run demanding AI workloads with confidence. The new cluster significantly expands Sharon AI’s existing GPU fleet, which already includes A40, L40s, H100, and H200 systems. Looking ahead to 2026, Sharon AI plans to deploy even more advanced B300 and GB300 systems to maintain its leadership in accelerated computing infrastructure. James Manning, CEO and Chairman of Sharon AI, stated that this expansion is not just about increasing capacity, but about providing the specialized, sovereign compute architecture needed for the next era of AI. By bringing 1,000 B200 GPUs to Australia, Sharon AI is ensuring that regional organizations have immediate access to world-class AI infrastructure. Sharon AI is a high-performance computing company focused on AI and cloud GPU compute infrastructure. Its platform is designed to accelerate the development of AI factories and sovereign AI solutions, supporting the growing demand for accelerated computing across the Asia-Pacific region.
