Salesforce Launches Agentforce 360 to Strengthen Enterprise AI Push Amid Growing Market Competition

Salesforce has unveiled Agentforce 360, the latest evolution of its AI agent platform, as the company intensifies its push into the enterprise AI space amid growing competition. The announcement comes ahead of Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce conference, set to begin on October 14. Agentforce 360 introduces several new capabilities designed to make AI agents more adaptable and powerful for business use. A key addition is Agent Script, a new prompting tool that will enter beta in November. This tool enables users to program AI agents with conditional logic—such as “if/then” scenarios—allowing them to respond more intelligently and flexibly to complex customer inquiries. Unlike traditional models that rely solely on pattern recognition, Agent Script leverages reasoning models from providers like Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini, which are designed to analyze and deliberate before responding. Also launching in beta this November is Agentforce Builder, a unified platform that allows teams to design, test, and deploy AI agents in one place. The tool includes Agentforce Vibes, an enterprise-grade app vibe coding feature Salesforce introduced earlier this month, which helps users quickly prototype AI-powered workflows. Integration with Slack is another major focus. Starting this month, core Agentforce applications—including those for sales, IT, and HR—will be directly accessible within Slack. The company plans to expand this integration through early 2026. Slack is also piloting a revamped version of its Slackbot, transforming it into a more personalized AI agent that learns user behavior and proactively offers insights and suggestions. Looking ahead, Salesforce aims to position Slack as a central enterprise search hub. In early 2026, the company will roll out connectors to major platforms like Gmail, Outlook, and Dropbox, enabling users to search across their entire digital workspace from within Slack. The timing of this announcement underscores the escalating race among tech giants to capture enterprise AI adoption. Just last week, Google launched Gemini Enterprise, a suite of AI tools already in use by companies like Figma, Klarna, and Virgin Voyages. Meanwhile, Anthropic has gained momentum with its Claude Enterprise offering, securing a major deal with Deloitte to deploy its AI assistant across 500,000 employees—the company’s largest enterprise agreement to date—followed by a strategic partnership with IBM. Salesforce claims Agentforce now serves 12,000 customers, a figure the company says surpasses that of its main competitors. Early adopters of Agentforce 360 include Lennar, Adecco, and Pearson. Despite these advancements, challenges remain. A recent MIT study found that 95% of enterprise AI pilot projects fail to move into production, highlighting ongoing struggles with ROI, implementation complexity, and organizational alignment. Still, Salesforce’s latest move reflects its strategy to deepen AI integration across its ecosystem and solidify its position as a leader in enterprise AI.
