Amazon adds SpaceX's Grok models to boost AI

According to insiders familiar with the matter, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is negotiating to rapidly integrate SpaceX's latest Grok model into its flagship AI platform, Bedrock. If finalized, this move would further solidify Bedrock's position as a premier hub for top-tier AI models while enabling SpaceX to reach millions of enterprise customers globally covered by AWS, bolstering momentum ahead of its highly anticipated IPO. Since its launch in 2023, Bedrock has aggregated multiple models from providers including Anthropic, Meta, Cohere, and OpenAI. The integration of SpaceX's model has completed backend architecture handover and is imminent. AWS CEO Andy Jasy previously stated unequivocally that the company aims to transform Bedrock into "the world's largest inference engine," whose long-term potential could rival even surpass core profit-driving business EC2. Previously, AWS experienced partial customer attrition due to compute capacity constraints; incorporating Grok is expected to alleviate pressure and diversify its service portfolio. This partnership also represents a strategic cornerstone in SpaceX's enhanced AI initiative. Earlier, SpaceX fully acquired xAI—founded by Elon Musk—and restructured it into an integrated "SpaceX AI" division. Although Grok encountered internal friction during development phases, SpaceX recently highlighted it as a central pillar of its AI strategy in its latest prospectus. The company plans to establish dedicated sales teams alongside "pre-sales engineers" who will directly engage clients, continuously iterating on Grok to expand its footprint in the enterprise market.
