Anthropic Expands Claude Cowork with New App Integrations and Multi-Step Task Automation for Enterprise Users
Anthropic has expanded the capabilities of its Claude Cowork platform with new updates designed to integrate AI more deeply into routine office workflows. The latest enhancements allow Claude Cowork to connect with widely used business tools such as Google Workspace, Docusign, and WordPress, enabling seamless interaction across key productivity platforms. The company has also introduced a suite of pre-built plug-ins tailored for specific professional functions, including human resources, design, engineering, and finance. These tools are aimed at streamlining repetitive or complex tasks, reducing manual effort, and improving efficiency across departments. One of the most notable improvements is Claude Cowork’s ability to manage multi-step workflows end-to-end across Excel and PowerPoint. The AI can now pass context between the two applications, allowing it to analyze data in spreadsheets and automatically generate corresponding slides, maintaining consistency and accuracy throughout the process. This update marks Anthropic’s continued focus on advancing AI agents—systems that can act autonomously on behalf of users. The launch of Claude Cowork earlier this month was the first major step in that direction, and the new features build on that foundation. The company’s coding agent, Claude Code, has also gained traction, even as it competes with Microsoft’s own AI-powered tools for Office applications. Earlier this month, Anthropic released updated versions of its flagship models—Claude Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6—both of which demonstrate improved performance on complex, multi-step tasks, including navigating spreadsheets, drafting reports, and managing technical workflows. The expanded Claude Cowork features are now available to all users on the platform, which remains a research preview. Access is currently limited to subscribers on paid plans, including Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise tiers.
