Prime Intellect Raises $130M Series A for Enterprise AI Agent Infrastructure

Prime Intellect has secured a $130 million Series A funding round at a $1 billion valuation, solidifying its role as an infrastructure provider for enterprise artificial intelligence. The round was led by Radical Ventures, with participation from Nvidia Ventures, Intel Capital, Dell Technologies Capital, Iconiq, and a network of angel investors including founders from major technology companies. Established in 2024, the company operates with a clear mandate: equip organizations to train and deploy proprietary agentic systems without relying on external frontier model providers. The startup tackles a longstanding engineering hurdle by delivering a unified development stack that integrates dedicated compute access, a reinforcement learning framework, and comprehensive evaluation tools. Instead of mandating rigid, all-in-one solutions, Prime Intellect functions as a modular marketplace, enabling clients to purchase only the components necessary for their specific operational workflows. This approach significantly reduces the complexity and expertise traditionally required to implement reinforcement learning pipelines at production scale, allowing engineering teams to iterate quickly on task-specific model optimization. Market adoption has accelerated rapidly, pushing the company to a $100 million annualized revenue run rate. Notable clients such as Zapier, Ramp, and Flapping Airplanes have deployed the platform for hosted inference and training workloads. Performance metrics are already validating the investment; Ramp utilized the infrastructure to construct an internal spreadsheet analysis agent that outperformed leading frontier models in accuracy, while delivering faster response times and substantially lower operational costs. The funding milestone aligns with a decisive pivot in corporate AI strategy. Enterprises are increasingly prioritizing data sovereignty and operational resilience, growing cautious of the risks associated with proprietary third-party models. Concerns over intellectual property exposure, vendor dependency, and sudden service discontinuations have prompted many organizations to seek self-hosted alternatives. Prime Intellect co-founder and chief executive Vincent Weisser argues that model training capabilities should not remain concentrated within a handful of large technology firms, but rather distributed across industries and institutions. As open methodologies and accessible compute infrastructure mature, Prime Intellect is positioning itself to bridge the gap between experimental research and reliable, enterprise-grade autonomous AI systems.
