According to newly released LinkedIn research, AI safety positions have surged by 91 percent over the past year, emerging as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise frozen job environment. OpenAI currently offers compensation of up to $325,000 annually for data scientists on its safety division, while Anthropic provides up to $285,000 for safeguards enforcement analysts. Google and Meta have also posted roles in this domain, with base salaries and bonuses reaching up to $239,000 and $209,000 respectively. This hiring surge aligns with a broader transformation of the technology workforce. Since 2023, the artificial intelligence sector has generated approximately two million new positions nationwide. Certain specialized roles have experienced even more dramatic increases, with forward-deployed AI experts rising by 226 percent and AI forensic analysts growing by 169 percent over the past year.
