BigPanda Acquires Velocity to Strengthen Agentic IT Operations Leadership and Accelerate AI-Driven Automation

BigPanda, a pioneer in Agentic IT Operations, has announced the acquisition of Velocity, an AI-powered Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) company known for its expertise in incident response and SRE workflows. The move strengthens BigPanda’s position at the forefront of AI-driven IT operations and accelerates its mission to deliver reasoning-based automation across enterprise environments. The acquisition brings Velocity’s seasoned leadership team and advanced AI technology into BigPanda’s ecosystem. Velocity’s deep experience in building scalable, intelligent systems for complex enterprise environments aligns closely with BigPanda’s vision of transforming reactive, human-led IT operations into proactive, autonomous workflows. BigPanda was founded on the principle that artificial intelligence can eliminate the repetitive, time-consuming tasks that hinder IT teams. Its Agentic IT Operations platform automates Level 1 (L1) operations, supports SRE and major incident response teams, and uses predictive analytics to prevent outages before they impact users. With the addition of Velocity, BigPanda is further enhancing its AI Detection and Response capabilities, enabling faster, more accurate incident resolution and reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR). Tal Kain, founder and CEO of Velocity, joins BigPanda as Vice President of AI Detection and Response. With a background in elite engineering roles, including leadership positions in startups acquired by Oracle, Verint, and PSG, and a foundational career in Israel’s Unit 8200, Kain brings decades of experience in intelligent automation and operational resilience. “Velocity was built on the belief that engineers should focus on solving big problems, not chasing alerts,” Kain said. “By combining Velocity’s innovation with BigPanda’s scale, data foundation, and market reach, we can deliver AI-native tools that help teams work faster, stay focused, and ensure reliability at scale.” The acquisition is a strategic step in addressing a $250 billion annual market for manual, human-driven IT operations. By automating detection, response, and prevention workflows, BigPanda and Velocity aim to reduce operational costs, improve system reliability, and free up engineering talent to focus on innovation. Assaf Resnick, CEO and co-founder of BigPanda, said, “BigPanda is defining what Agentic IT Operations looks like in the enterprise, and our customers are already seeing measurable results. With Velocity, we’re accelerating that vision—bringing in world-class talent, proven technology, and a shared belief in how agentic AI will transform the future of IT.” The integration of Velocity’s team and technology will help BigPanda expand its AI-native platform, enabling enterprises to move from reactive firefighting to intelligent, autonomous operations. As digital services grow in complexity, the need for agentic systems that can reason, act, and learn in real time becomes increasingly critical. BigPanda continues to empower the world’s most trusted brands to maintain high service reliability through AI-driven automation. Learn more at www.bigpanda.io.
