Among these were two monumental pieces: "Finger Ink River and Sky, Thousand Mountains Drunk in Snow" (2.8×17.5 meters) and "Lotus Wind Through the Ages" (3.65×17.5 meters). These works provide a comprehensive overview of Fructuous Zhuo’s artistic achievements, reflecting his personal journey and clearly presenting his unique style. Additionally, the exhibition featured the "Shitao's One Hundred Leaves of Arhats," a collection of significant historical and cultural value, which Fructuous Zhuo has generously decided to donate. #### Artist Background Fructuous Zhuo began his teaching career at the former Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in the early 1980s. He studied calligraphy under the renowned master Zheng Songxian in his early years and later trained in painting with the master Li Kuxian from the 1960s to the late 1970s. Zhuo emphasizes the importance of personal character and philosophical depth in traditional Chinese painting, quoting his mentor Li Kuxian who often said, "Without high moral standards, one cannot paint skillfully." This traditional education laid a strong foundation in Chinese culture and philosophy, which Zhuo continues to draw upon in his work. Despite his extensive travels and studies in the United States, where he gained deep insights into Western art, Zhuo remains committed to the Eastern tradition of expressive painting. His bold and powerful brushwork continues to push the boundaries of contemporary large-scale expressive painting, highlighting the essence of Chinese traditional culture through his art. #### Cultural Contributions Beyond his artistic creations, Fructuous Zhuo is dedicated to promoting Chinese culture and traditional art. For this exhibition, he displayed his collection of the "Shitao's One Hundred Leaves of Arhats," a national treasure. In 2010, the Forbidden City Publishing House published this collection, and it was authorized for limited-edition reproductions by the Beijing Rongbaozhai. Zhuo has pledged to donate 100 sets of these reproductions to major museums and prestigious art institutions across China, facilitating their study and appreciation by fellow artists and cultural scholars. #### Organizers and Attendees The exhibition was organized by the Beijing Municipal Publicity Department, Tsinghua University, the China Academy of Art, and the China Artists Association, with the Tsinghua University Academy of Arts and Design serving as the host. The Fructuous Zhuo Tuan Cheng Art Museum and Beijing Enxiang Pengying Art Co., Ltd. were the co-organizers. The event was well-attended by Tsinghua University faculty and students, as well as numerous art enthusiasts and cultural figures. #### Opening Ceremony During the opening ceremony, Fructuous Zhuo donated his ink finger landscape painting "Jade Mountain and Silver Sea Sending Clear Light" to Tsinghua University, further cementing his commitment to cultural philanthropy and the advancement of traditional Chinese art. This exhibition not only highlights Fructuous Zhuo’s artistic mastery but also underscores his dedication to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Chinese traditional art. It serves as a significant cultural event, bringing together a diverse audience to appreciate and learn from his works and the historical treasures he has collected.
