LG Unveils World’s Lightest 17-Inch RTX Laptop with New Aerominum Material, AI-Powered 16-Inch Model Coming to CES

LG is unveiling its upcoming 2026 Gram Pro laptops, set to be officially revealed at CES, with the company highlighting the Gram Pro 17 (17Z90UR) as the “world’s lightest 17-inch RTX laptop.” The new lineup introduces LG’s proprietary ultralight “Aerominum material,” designed to reduce weight while enhancing durability and scratch resistance. The Gram Pro 17 features a 2,560 x 1,600 display and is powered by Nvidia’s RTX 5050 laptop GPU, which comes with 8GB of VRAM. LG says the configuration delivers “ample performance for graphics-intensive tasks, content creation, and gaming.” However, it’s important to note that the laptop is not built for high-end gaming—most modern titles will not run smoothly at maximum settings, so it should not be considered a dedicated gaming machine. While LG hasn’t disclosed the exact weight of the Gram Pro 17, the company confirms it will be available exclusively in the U.S. at launch. The Gram Pro 16 (16Z90U), meanwhile, will feature a 2,880 x 1,800 OLED display and Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors. LG claims it will be the lightest 16-inch laptop in its class to offer both on-device and cloud-based AI capabilities. Pricing and official release dates for both models remain unannounced, with LG likely saving those details for the official CES launch next week. The company is building anticipation around the new lineup, emphasizing its focus on lightweight design, advanced materials, and AI integration.
