OpenAI Expands ServiceNow AI Partnership Across Enterprise Workflows
OpenAI and ServiceNow are expanding their partnership to embed more OpenAI models and agents across ServiceNow products while linking ServiceNow enterprise workflows with ChatGPT and Codex. The collaboration aims to help organizations build applications, resolve IT requests, address security issues, and execute workflow actions using AI-driven context and automation. The expansion builds on the partnership announced in January and integrates ServiceNow business context and workflow capabilities directly into ChatGPT. IT teams will be able to investigate incidents, assess change risk, and update ServiceNow records without leaving the ChatGPT conversation. Customers will connect ChatGPT to their own ServiceNow instances and select which capabilities to expose. ServiceNow’s Action Fabric will apply existing business rules and permissions to ensure that user actions remain aligned with organizational configurations and access controls. ServiceNow is also previewing interactive experiences inside ChatGPT. In one planned scenario, an on-call engineer could review linked monitoring alerts, recent changes, and affected services, then assign the appropriate team and begin remediation within ChatGPT. Both companies plan to deepen internal and customer-facing use. ServiceNow intends to provide employees with access to ChatGPT Work and Codex beyond its engineering organization, enabling engineers to explore codebases, make changes, and run tests while broader teams use ChatGPT Work for everyday tasks. ServiceNow also plans to apply OpenAI capabilities to its internal security work. OpenAI will use ServiceNow workflows within its own operations, supported by the Super Intelligence Control Tower. The ServiceNow MCP plugin is now available in the OpenAI marketplace, with enhanced capabilities expected by the end of 2026. Voice features in the Super Intelligence Control Tower are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. OpenAI-powered security capabilities are expected to enter early access in January 2027 and reach general availability in the second quarter of 2027, while Codex in AI Workflow Factory is planned for availability in 2027.
