Nile Appoints Mike Weston as President of International Sales and Operations to Drive Global Expansion of Secure Network-as-a-Service
Nile, a pioneer and leader in secure Network-as-a-Service (NaaS), has appointed Mike Weston as President of International Sales and Operations. The move underscores Nile’s strategic push to accelerate global expansion amid rising demand for its secure, autonomous NaaS solutions across Europe, the UAE, Qatar, Asia Pacific, and Japan. Weston will lead Nile’s international growth efforts, focusing on helping enterprises modernize their network infrastructure through the company’s award-winning NaaS platform for branch and campus deployments. He will report directly to Pankaj Patel, co-founder and CEO of Nile. With over 30 years of global leadership experience in technology, networking, and enterprise IT, Weston brings a deep track record of driving business growth across key international markets. His career began in the UK before he spent more than two decades leading operations across Central Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Business Machines’ regional operations based in the UAE, where he expanded the company into a comprehensive digital solutions provider offering digital infrastructure, security, business solutions, and services. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at IBM’s Middle East and Asia Pacific divisions. Earlier in his career, Weston held executive positions at Cisco, Tivoli Systems, and Computer Associates. “With growing market adoption of Nile’s innovative, secure NaaS solution, now is the right time to bring in seasoned global leaders to fuel our international expansion,” said Pankaj Patel, co-founder and CEO of Nile. “Mike’s decades of experience, proven ability to scale businesses, and deep commitment to customer success make him a perfect fit for Nile’s next phase of growth.” “Nile’s vision of delivering secure, autonomous Network-as-a-Service—designed with security at its core, powered by AI, and built around exceptional user experience while simplifying operations—is exactly what the industry needs,” said Mike Weston. “Organizations worldwide are seeking smarter, safer, and simpler ways to connect people, devices, and applications. I’m excited to help customers across Europe, the UAE, Qatar, Asia Pacific, and Japan unlock the transformative potential of Nile’s technology.” A former professional football player in the UK, Weston has built a career defined by hands-on leadership, operational excellence, and a passion for innovation-driven team building. His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Nile, as demand surges for zero-trust architectures and AI-powered network simplicity. According to Gartner, by 2029, more than 30% of enterprises will consider on-premises Network-as-a-Service, up from less than 5% in 2025. Nile’s recent recognition as a Challenger in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Infrastructure Platform Consumption Services and a Visionary in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure highlights its growing influence in the market. Nile is redefining secure networking by combining AI-driven automation, autonomous operations, and radical simplicity to deliver superior performance and cost efficiency compared to legacy solutions. The company’s platform is designed for local area branch and campus environments, enabling organizations to reduce complexity, lower costs, and enhance user experience.
