InterSystems and Google Cloud integrate HealthShare with Google Cloud Healthcare API
InterSystems has announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to integrate its HealthShare platform with Google Cloud’s AI and data infrastructure, marking a significant step toward solving one of healthcare’s most pressing challenges: fragmented and inconsistent data. The collaboration, unveiled at the HLTH conference in Las Vegas, aims to deliver a scalable, real-time, harmonized data foundation for generative and agent-based AI applications in healthcare. The integration addresses the critical need for reliable, unified data in AI-driven healthcare. InterSystems HealthShare brings powerful capabilities in data aggregation, normalization, deduplication, patient identity resolution, and terminology mapping across diverse data sources. When combined with Google Cloud’s advanced AI/ML tools, including the Vertex AI platform and the Gemini family of models, as well as the secure, compliant Google Cloud Healthcare API, the solution enables organizations to unlock the full potential of AI with clean, interoperable, and actionable data. Don Woodlock, Global Healthcare Solutions Director at InterSystems, emphasized that AI in healthcare can only succeed when built on trustworthy, usable data. “By integrating HealthShare into Google Cloud’s comprehensive data and AI ecosystem, we help organizations ensure their data is interoperable and responsibly managed, so providers can focus on improving workflows and delivering smarter care,” he said. The platform allows healthcare organizations to create a FHIR-compliant, scalable data repository for clinical decision support, research, and operations. Leveraging Google BigQuery and AI-optimized infrastructure, it supports large-scale analytics. It also enables the use of advanced generative AI and agent-based systems for clinical decision-making, administrative automation, and public health initiatives. Aashima Gupta, Global Director of Healthcare Strategy & Solutions at Google Cloud, highlighted the demand for secure, responsible, and immediately useful AI solutions. “InterSystems offers a platform that simplifies data preparation, allowing organizations to fully realize the value of their information by combining HealthShare’s unique data curation with Google Cloud’s cutting-edge AI and data processing capabilities,” she said. The solution is available immediately through a Bring-Your-Own-License (BYOL) model. It is expected to launch in Google Cloud Marketplace in North America in the first quarter of 2026, with a global rollout to follow. This partnership strengthens data interoperability, enhances security, and supports seamless integration with existing healthcare systems and standards. It also aligns with Google Cloud’s robust security and compliance framework, ensuring data governance and trust. InterSystems, a private company founded in 1978 and headquartered in Boston, provides data platforms for healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and supply chain industries across more than 80 countries. With 38 offices worldwide, the company is committed to excellence through 24/7 global support. The announcement comes at a pivotal moment as healthcare organizations increasingly seek to deploy AI responsibly. While many AI initiatives face hurdles due to poor data quality and siloed systems, this collaboration offers a proven, enterprise-grade platform to overcome these barriers. By combining InterSystems’ deep expertise in healthcare data integration with Google Cloud’s AI and cloud infrastructure, the partnership sets a new standard for how AI can be safely and effectively deployed in healthcare—driving innovation, improving patient outcomes, and enabling smarter, more coordinated care.
