Google AI Educator Series Now Offers College and Continuing Education Credits
Google has expanded its AI Educator Series by introducing multiple pathways for educators to earn formal academic and professional credits at no cost. Starting later this year, participants in the fifteen-minute training modules will be able to secure undergraduate credit through a new partnership with College Unbound. Additionally, collaborations with ISTE and Dominican University will allow educators to convert completed training into fully accredited graduate-level credits. Illinois educators and administrators may also apply their participation toward professional license renewal hours via the Illinois Digital Educators Alliance. To accelerate program adoption ahead of the credit launch, Google is hosting a virtual Badge-a-thon on September 19. This twelve-hour drop-in webinar enables educators to view live instructional demonstrations, acquire time-saving teaching strategies, and collect ISTE-aligned digital badges. Registration is available through the official event portal. The initiative reflects a strategic effort to lower administrative and financial barriers to artificial intelligence professional development, positioning AI literacy as a standard component of modern educator training pipelines.
