Google launches Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash with 15-second video and 30% lower prices

Google has made Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash generally available across the Gemini API and Gemini for Business, introducing native 15-second video creation, multi-turn conversational editing and improved reference following. The model’s price has been reduced by 30% compared with Gemini Omni 1.1, bringing the cost to $0.07 per second for 720p video. The update is designed to make video generation more economical at scale. Users can begin with fast drafts at 360p or 720p, correct details through follow-up edits rather than regenerating an entire clip, and upscale selected outputs to 1080p or 4K. Video lengths can now reach 15 seconds, up from 10 seconds in the prior version, with durations adjustable in one-second increments from 3 to 15 seconds. This allows users to produce longer product explainers, social ads and short-form storytelling clips in a single generation. Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash also improves consistency when guided by reference assets. Users can combine character, product or style images, short motion clips of up to three seconds and audio cues to shape the result. Google says the model better preserves faces, garments, packaging typography and brand colors across changing camera angles, making it more practical for applications such as virtual try-ons, catalog spins and branded video ads. The company said businesses, startups and creative teams are already incorporating Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash into production workflows. For the first time, Gemini Omni is generally available under Google Cloud’s enterprise infrastructure and security framework. Provisioned Throughput is offered for scalable deployments, and outputs include an imperceptible SynthID watermark.
