Jeff Dean Launches AI Venture Discovery Loop to Automate Scientific Discovery

On August 7, former Google principal research scientist Jeff Dean made his first public appearance since concluding a 27-year tenure with the tech giant. Speaking at Stanford University’s AASF Summit alongside UC Berkeley professor and Meta AI Research VP Dawn Song, Dean unveiled the strategic vision for his newly launched artificial intelligence startup, Discovery Loop. Discovery Loop seeks to transition AI from passive problem-solving to active scientific discovery.
