Anthropic and Salesforce Expand AI Partnership for Regulated Sectors
Salesforce has announced a major expansion of its strategic partnership with Anthropic, aiming to deliver trusted, enterprise-grade AI for regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, cybersecurity, and life sciences. At the core of the collaboration is the integration of Anthropic’s Claude, one of the world’s most advanced AI model families, into Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 Platform. This integration allows organizations to use Claude as a preferred AI model within Salesforce’s secure, compliant environment, with all data and workloads kept within Salesforce’s virtual private cloud. The partnership introduces industry-specific AI solutions, starting with financial services, enabling AI agents to understand complex financial instruments, insurance claims, and regulatory frameworks. For example, financial advisors can use Claude-powered agents to summarize client portfolios, track compliance changes, and automate consent management—all while maintaining data privacy and regulatory adherence. RBC Wealth Management and CrowdStrike are already leveraging this capability to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency. A key component of the partnership is the deep integration of Claude with Slack, powered by Slack’s Model Context Protocol (MCP). This enables users to access Claude directly within Slack to summarize conversations, extract decisions, draft updates, and pull insights from Salesforce CRM, Tableau, and other enterprise systems—streamlining workflows from discussion to action. Salesforce engineers are also using Claude Code, Anthropic’s AI coding agent, within Slack to improve development speed and transparency. The collaboration is built on mutual success: Anthropic uses Salesforce’s Agentforce and Slack internally to scale its operations, while Salesforce deploys Claude across its engineering teams to boost productivity. This real-world use case demonstrates the power of conversational AI in enterprise workflows. Separately, Salesforce has expanded its partnership with OpenAI, integrating Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 into ChatGPT. This allows users to access CRM data, analyze customer interactions, and generate Tableau visualizations directly within ChatGPT. OpenAI’s frontier models, including GPT-5, will be available for building custom AI agents and prompts within Salesforce’s platform. The partnership also enables agentic commerce through Instant Checkout in ChatGPT, powered by the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) co-developed with Stripe. The ACP, combined with Stripe’s secure payment infrastructure, allows merchants using Agentforce Commerce to enable instant, tokenized, privacy-compliant purchases directly in ChatGPT. This turns moments of purchase intent into seamless transactions, reducing integration time and costs. The integration supports guided shopping on digital storefronts, enabling end-to-end experiences from discovery to return—all within a single, personalized conversation. These initiatives reflect Salesforce’s vision of the “Agentic Enterprise,” where AI agents work alongside humans across apps, data, and workflows. The company emphasizes trust, security, and control—critical for regulated industries. By combining Anthropic’s safe, interpretable AI, OpenAI’s generative power, and Stripe’s financial infrastructure, Salesforce is building a unified, intelligent ecosystem for the future of work and commerce. The partnerships signal a new era in enterprise AI, where data, intelligence, and action converge in trusted, user-friendly environments.
