Google Launches Real-Time AI Voice Search Live to All US Users with Conversational AI and Camera Integration
Google is expanding access to its real-time AI-powered voice search feature, Search Live, rolling it out to all users in the United States. The new capability allows users to conduct conversations with an AI assistant directly through the Google app, receiving instant responses and relevant web links as they ask questions. To use the feature, open the Google app on Android or iOS and tap the new “Live” button located just below the search bar. Users can then speak their queries aloud and, if desired, activate their camera to enable visual context. The AI can analyze what’s in the frame and respond accordingly. Search Live is also available within the Google Lens app, where users can engage in a back-and-forth dialogue while sharing their camera feed. Previously, Search Live was only available through a limited test in Google Labs and was restricted to English speakers. Now, it’s being made widely accessible, marking a significant step toward integrating conversational AI into everyday search. Google envisions practical, real-world applications for the tool. For instance, users can show the AI the ingredients and tools they’ve bought to learn how to make matcha, asking questions like “What’s this for?” or “How do I use this?” Similarly, when setting up a new electronic device, users can point their camera at a cable and ask where it goes, getting immediate guidance. The feature represents Google’s push to make search more interactive and intuitive, moving beyond traditional keyword queries toward natural, dynamic conversations. As AI continues to evolve, Search Live aims to deliver faster, smarter, and more context-aware results—especially when combined with visual input. Users can expect updates on additional language support and expanded functionality in the coming months.
