Sonar Signal is a dataset of sonar signals used for underwater object classification. This dataset is suitable for binary classification tasks, aiming to distinguish whether a sonar signal originates from rocks or a mine shaft.

Dataset composition:

  • A total of 207 samples were collected, each containing 60 continuous numerical features.
  • The characteristic represents the energy within a specific frequency band, with a numerical range of approximately 0 to 1.
  • The target variables are R (rock) and M (mine).
  • No missing values, data has been cleaned, suitable for direct use in machine learning experiments.

Data Fields:

  • X1 to X60: Continuous numerical characteristics, representing frequency energy.
  • Target column (R): R indicates rock, M indicates mine.
