Open Schematics, released in 2025, is an open-source asset dataset for electronic hardware and circuit design. It aims to provide rich and structured training and evaluation resources for artificial intelligence models in tasks such as circuit schematic understanding, component identification, and hardware design assistance.

This dataset contains approximately 84,470 circuit schematic samples, collected from publicly available hardware project repositories, and their original files, visualizations, component lists, and structured metadata were extracted.

Data composition:

  • schematic: The contents of the original circuit schematic file (mainly in .kicad_sch format).
  • image: PNG image rendering of the schematic diagram.
  • components_used: A list of components used in the circuit design.
  • JSON/YAML: A structured representation of circuit structure and metadata
  • name: Project Name
  • Description: Project Description
  • type: file format/extension
