Meteorological and Snow Indicators European Meteorological and Snow Indicators Dataset

This dataset provides meteorological and snowfall indicators for Europe, describing the operation of ski resorts in winter under the RCP 4.5 scenario. The following is a description of the attributes:

• time:Year
• Number_of_points:A specific point at a given coordinate in a given year
• LAT: latitude
• LON:longitude
• NUTS3_ID: NUTS region
• ZS:altitude
• beginning_of_season:Start of season, i.e. the first day of the longest continuous period with at least 30 cm of natural snow on the ground
• end_of_season:End of season, i.e. the last date of the longest continuous period with at least 30 cm of natural snow on the ground
• mm_prod:Annual machine-generated snow (in kg m-2) – Value for the total amount of snow produced between 1 August, year N-1 and 31 July, year N (using managed snow simulation)
• precipitation_amount：Total precipitation for a given period of time – The cumulative value of snowfall and rainfall for a given period of time in a year N-1/N
• snow_precipitation_amount_nov_ap: Total snowfall from November to April – The cumulative snowfall for a given period of the year N-1/N
• sd_days_low :Number of days in a given period (each year, Christmas or Purisma) with a natural snow cover of at least 5 cm on the ground
• sd_days_medium:Number of days in a given period (annually, during Christmas or Purisma) with at least 30 cm of natural snow on the ground
• sd_days_high :Number of days in a given period (annually, during Christmas or Purisma) with at least 50 cm of natural snow on the ground
• swe_days_natural_high:Snow Water Equivalent – Periods (number of days) with high levels of natural snowfall
• mean_winter_tas :The 6-hour average temperature for all days of a given month or year N
• mean_feb_tas :Average winter temperature or average February temperature
• smh_wbt_lower2:Early potential snowmaking time (wet bulb temperature below -2°C)
