Google Launches AI for Energy Accelerator in Europe and Israel to Boost Climate Goals and Industrial Growth

Startups are leading the charge in shaping the future of energy in Europe and Israel, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in decarbonization, energy security, and industrial competitiveness. The potential of AI in helping Europe achieve its ambitious climate targets and fostering economic growth is immense, but realizing this potential calls for modernizing energy systems, enhancing grid reliability, and driving industrial transformation. Building on the success of our North American cohort, we are thrilled to announce the opening of applications for the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI for Energy in Europe & Israel. This 12-week, equity-free program is designed to empower startups using AI to accelerate the energy transition. Applications close on June 30, 2025, and the program will kick off in September, running through November. It combines virtual sessions with in-person networking opportunities, allowing founders to connect with peers, Googlers, and energy sector experts. Selected startups will benefit from intensive mentorship, technical project support, and access to advanced AI tools and Google Cloud infrastructure. They will also have the chance to collaborate with top talent from Google. The curriculum is carefully tailored to energy-focused startups and covers essential topics such as AI/ML infrastructure, product design and user experience (UX), go-to-market strategies, and leadership development. We are particularly interested in supporting startups addressing major challenges in Europe's energy landscape, including: Decarbonization: Developing innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions. Energy Security: Enhancing the reliability and resilience of energy grids. Industrial Competitiveness: Promoting the adoption of sustainable technologies in industries. Startups will have the unique opportunity to work closely with experts from Google’s Energy and Sustainability teams, as well as Google Cloud, to gain valuable insights and best practices.
