Anthropic expands PwC partnership to bring Claude to corporate America

Anthropic has significantly expanded its strategic alliance with professional services firm PwC to accelerate the adoption of its Claude AI models within corporate America. Announced on Thursday, this partnership aims to embed AI deeply into the infrastructure of large enterprises by combining Anthropic's technological capabilities with PwC's extensive industry experience. The collaboration focuses on three primary areas: assisting engineering teams in developing agentic AI tools for clients, integrating AI into the dealmaking process, and reinventing client operating models. To support these goals, PwC plans to train and certify 30,000 US employees in Claude Code, with a broader rollout to its global workforce of 364,000 employees. Additionally, the two companies will establish a joint Center of Excellence to foster innovation and implementation. Paul Griggs, CEO of PwC US, stated that the partnership enables organizations to transition from experimental AI projects to enterprise-wide impact with greater confidence. Claude is already embedded in ChatPwC, PwC's internal AI assistant, and is actively being utilized in client engagements across finance, supply chain, and dealmaking. Dario Amodei, cofounder and CEO of Anthropic, highlighted the tangible efficiency gains resulting from AI adoption, citing examples where insurance underwriting time was reduced from ten weeks to ten days, and security analysis accelerated from hours to minutes. This deal is part of a broader trend where major service providers are reshaping how corporations invest in technology and redesign workflows. Anthropic has recently formed similar high-profile alliances with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management through a $1.5 billion AI-services venture, securing access to influential corporate clients. Meanwhile, competitors like OpenAI and Google are also deepening ties with consulting giants. OpenAI maintains partnerships with firms such as BCG, Accenture, and Capgemini, while Google recently announced a $750 million fund to assist consulting firms in deploying agentic AI. Recent data from Ramp's AI Index indicates that Anthropic's business adoption reached 34.4% in April, surpassing OpenAI's 32.3%, a significant shift in a market previously led by OpenAI. This surge is largely attributed to the popularity of Claude Code, signaling a competitive evolution in the enterprise AI landscape.
