Salesforce and Anthropic Expand Partnership to Deliver Trusted AI for Regulated Industries
Salesforce and Anthropic have announced a major expansion of their strategic partnership to deliver trusted, enterprise-grade AI tailored for regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, cybersecurity, and life sciences. The collaboration introduces three key initiatives aimed at combining Anthropic’s advanced AI models with Salesforce’s secure, scalable platform. At the core of the partnership is the integration of Anthropic’s Claude family of AI models into Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 Platform. Claude will now serve as a preferred AI model for regulated sectors, ensuring sensitive data and workloads remain secure within Salesforce’s trusted environment. This includes full integration with Salesforce’s virtual private cloud, making Anthropic the first large language model provider fully contained within Salesforce’s trust boundary. The partnership will launch with industry-specific AI solutions for financial services. The integration of Claude for Financial Services with Agentforce Financial Services enables AI agents to understand complex financial instruments, insurance claims, and regulatory frameworks. For example, a financial advisor using the platform can ask their AI agent to summarize client portfolios, identify changes in retirement regulations, and automate consent tracking—all while maintaining compliance and data security. RBC Wealth Management is already leveraging this capability to streamline meeting preparation, saving advisors hours of manual work and allowing them to focus more on client relationships. According to Rohit Gupta, Head of Digital Advisor Platforms at RBC, the integration has significantly improved efficiency and decision-making. Another major component of the partnership is the enhanced integration of Claude and Slack. Using Slack’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, users can now invoke Claude directly within Slack to summarize conversations, extract key decisions, draft updates, and analyze documents. Claude can also pull insights from Salesforce CRM, Tableau, and other enterprise applications, enabling faster transitions from discussion to action. This integration is already being used internally by Anthropic, which relies on Slack and Agentforce 360 to manage its rapid growth. The company uses Claude in Slack to summarize lengthy conversations, surface critical insights, and generate guided actions—demonstrating the real-world value of the workflow automation the partnership aims to deliver to all customers. Additionally, Salesforce is deploying Claude Code across its global engineering teams. This AI coding agent operates directly in the terminal, helping developers write, debug, and deploy code faster while maintaining transparency and control. Through Slack integration, engineers can document code, access specifications, and pull context from Slack discussions—seamlessly embedding AI into their development workflow. The expanded partnership builds on mutual success, with Anthropic itself using Salesforce and Slack to scale its operations. The collaboration underscores a shared vision: delivering powerful, trustworthy AI that enhances productivity without compromising security or compliance. The new capabilities are now available to Salesforce customers, with further enhancements to bring the full power of Agentforce 360 into Claude in the coming months.
