NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 72GB Blackwell GPU Now Generally Available, Boosting Desktop AI with 72GB GDDR7 Memory and 2,142 TOPS AI Performance

The NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 72GB Blackwell GPU is now generally available, expanding high-performance AI capabilities for developers, engineers, and creative professionals working on desktop systems. Built on the advanced NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, this new GPU delivers powerful support for agentic and generative AI workloads, addressing the growing demand for memory-intensive computing in modern AI development. The 72GB variant joins the existing RTX PRO 5000 48GB model, giving users greater flexibility to choose hardware that matches their budget and project needs. With 72GB of ultrafast GDDR7 memory—50% more than the 48GB version—this GPU enables local training, fine-tuning, and prototyping of large language models and complex AI agents without relying on cloud or data center infrastructure. This enhances data privacy, reduces latency, and improves cost efficiency for teams working on sensitive or real-time AI applications. The RTX PRO 5000 72GB delivers 2,142 TOPS of AI performance, making it well-suited for the evolving demands of agentic AI systems. These systems often require simultaneous operation of multiple models, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and multimodal data, all of which place heavy demands on GPU memory. The Blackwell architecture’s multi-workload scheduling and high-throughput design help manage these complex workloads efficiently. In generative AI benchmarks, the new GPU shows significant gains—3.5 times faster than previous-generation hardware for image generation and 2 times faster for text generation. Creative professionals benefit from up to 4.7x faster render times in popular path-tracing engines like Arnold, Chaos V-Ray, and Blender, as well as real-time renderers such as D5 Render and Redshift. For computer-aided engineering and product design, the GPU delivers more than 2x the graphics performance of earlier models. Early adopters are already seeing the impact. InfinitForm, a generative AI startup for engineering design and a member of the NVIDIA Inception program, is using the RTX PRO 5000 72GB to accelerate its CUDA-optimized software. The company plans to help clients like Yamaha Motor and NASA improve product performance and manufacturability through faster, more advanced simulations. Versatile Media, a global virtual production studio, is leveraging the GPU’s massive memory to handle large-scale, high-resolution 3D scenes with complex lighting and real-time physics. The company reports that the 72GB memory allows for faster iteration and greater creative freedom, essential for film-grade virtual production. The RTX PRO 5000 72GB is now available through partners including Ingram Micro, Leadtek, Unisplendour, and xFusion. Broader availability through global system builders is expected early next year. As AI becomes central to design, simulation, robotics, and digital content creation, the RTX PRO 5000 72GB Blackwell GPU stands ready to power the next wave of innovation, offering a powerful, scalable solution for AI workloads on the desktop.
