Aeva Unveils Windshield-Integrated 4D LiDAR and New Sensor for Physical AI at CES 2026, Showcasing Advances in Automotive, Robotics, and Smart Infrastructure
Aeva, a pioneer in next-generation sensing and perception systems, announced it will unveil a passenger OEM vehicle featuring windshield-integrated 4D LiDAR and introduce a new 4D LiDAR sensor at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9. The company will showcase its Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) perception platform through live, interactive demonstrations across automotive, robotics, factory automation, and smart infrastructure applications. At the event, Aeva will debut a new 4D LiDAR sensor designed for advanced sensing in robotics, automotive, and smart infrastructure environments. This innovation marks the next phase of Aeva’s LiDAR-on-Chip technology, broadening its reach beyond long-range automotive use into a wider range of Physical AI applications. In the automotive segment, Aeva will demonstrate its Aeva Atlas™ Ultra 4D LiDAR integrated behind the windshield of a passenger vehicle. This integration exemplifies how FMCW sensing enables Level 3 automated driving at highway speeds. The demonstration includes a next-generation windshield design co-developed with Wideye by AGC, engineered to meet rigorous OEM standards for compact packaging, performance, and seamless sensor fusion with automotive-grade cameras. Aeva will also highlight its expanding solutions for smart infrastructure and transportation. These include advanced traffic management, aviation and rail automation, and real-time airport situational awareness—applications aimed at improving safety and efficiency in public mobility systems. For industrial automation, Aeva will feature its Aeva Eve™ 1 sensing portfolio. Eve 1D delivers sub-micron precision for measuring thickness, height, vibration, and surface profiles, while Eve 1V provides non-contact, sub-millimeter-per-second velocity accuracy for speed, length, and position tracking. These sensors enable reliable, maintenance-free real-time quality control in high-volume manufacturing. Attendees can experience live 4D LiDAR point cloud visualizations that display both range and velocity for every point in real time—offering a key advantage over traditional 3D Time-of-Flight LiDAR. When combined with Aeva’s AI-powered perception software, the demos will illustrate dynamic object detection, semantic segmentation, and robust tracking in complex, real-world environments. Aeva’s FMCW technology stands out by simultaneously measuring position and velocity, enabling smarter, safer decisions in autonomous systems. The company has already secured production partnerships with major global OEMs, including Daimler Truck and a top European passenger automaker, and is expanding in manufacturing automation with partners like Nikon, SICK AG, and LMI Technologies. Aeva will exhibit at booth #6919 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, with additional presence at partner booths including LG Innotek (#3800) and AGC (#6653).
