Litera Unveils Free AI Agent Lito Across Core Legal Tools, Democratizing Advanced AI for Millions of Lawyers

Litera has announced a transformative step in making artificial intelligence accessible to legal professionals by integrating its new AI legal agent, Lito, into its core products at no additional cost. Starting today, Lito is automatically included in Litera’s drafting tools—Draft Base, Pro, and Advanced—as well as in its workflow and due diligence platform, Kira. The agentic AI is also seamlessly connected to NetDocuments, the leading cloud-based content management and productivity platform trusted by legal teams worldwide. This move marks a pivotal moment for the legal industry, giving tens of thousands of lawyers across over 15,000 firms—ranging from large law firms to solo practitioners—immediate access to advanced AI capabilities without extra fees or complex setup. According to Litera CEO Avaneesh Marwaha, “Today marks a watershed moment for the legal profession. Tens of thousands of lawyers just gained technology that delivers 10x efficiency gains, directly in the tools where they do their work.” Lito is designed specifically for lawyers by lawyers, drawing on Litera’s 30 years of legal technology expertise and intellectual property. Built into the unified, AI-powered Litera One interface, Lito is already used by nearly 40% of Litera’s customers across Microsoft Word, Outlook, and web platforms. It comes with a foundational library of 11 legal AI skills—developed by Litera’s legal knowledge engineers—covering critical practice areas such as Capital Markets, M&A, Litigation, Compliance, and Business Development. These skills are continuously updated to meet evolving legal demands. Unlike generic chatbots or basic LLM wrappers, Lito operates as a true agentic AI, capable of chaining multiple tasks into guided, step-by-step workflows. It integrates natively with key platforms including iManage and NetDocuments, embedding intelligence directly into the daily legal workflow. This eliminates context-switching and reduces reliance on prompt engineering, making AI accessible even to users with limited AI experience. Early adopters have praised Lito’s intuitive design and practical impact. Joshua Tan, Partner at Delta Law Corporation, noted that “the platform has a user-friendly interface and has simplified the need for prompt engineering through the use of pre-defined skills, which was useful for users who were less familiar with working with LLMs.” He added that Lito significantly reduces time spent on repetitive tasks. Industry analysts agree that the future of legal AI lies in seamless integration. Ryan O’Leary, Research Director at IDC, stated, “The next wave of legal AI won’t be defined by who has the largest dataset or deepest pockets, but by who can make intelligence accessible inside the daily workflow.” With the legal AI market projected to grow from $1.45 billion in 2024 to $3.90 billion by 2030, Litera’s strategy of embedding explainable, trusted, and free AI into everyday tools sets a new standard. The company continues to lead the legal tech revolution by empowering legal professionals to work smarter, faster, and more securely—raising the bar for the entire profession.
