Nursa Unveils AI-Powered Scheduling Assistant to Revolutionize Nurse Staffing

Nursa, a nationwide platform dedicated to ensuring every patient has a nurse at their bedside, has launched an artificial intelligence-powered scheduling assistant designed to revolutionize how healthcare facilities post nurse shifts. The new tool, called Nursa Intelligence Assistant or “NIA,” enables organizations to create single or bulk shift listings in seconds, significantly reducing the time and effort traditionally required for staffing. Available now within the Nursa platform, NIA offers three intuitive ways to generate shift posts. Users can speak directly to the AI assistant, describing their staffing needs in natural language. They can also take a photo of handwritten or printed shift details—even if the note is messy or unclear—and NIA will extract and interpret the information. Additionally, users can upload spreadsheets or other files used for scheduling, and NIA automatically processes the data, populating the necessary fields for review and confirmation. Carlee Scholl, a staffing coordinator at Sullivan Park Care Center in Spokane, Washington, manages up to 150 shifts each month. Since integrating NIA into her workflow, she has found the tool fast, accurate, and highly reliable. “I just looked it over to make sure it was everything that I needed,” she said. “It was spot on.” Curtis Anderson, CEO and founder of Nursa, emphasized the transformative potential of AI in healthcare operations. “Artificial intelligence is opening up new opportunities to streamline cumbersome workflows so healthcare facilities can focus on the important business of delivering quality patient care,” he said. “With NIA, facilities eliminate the repetitive typing and data entry of shift posting by generating one or thousands of shifts in just seconds. We’re redefining what fast and easy staffing feels like, and this is just the beginning.” Nursa’s platform connects healthcare facilities—including hospitals, health systems, skilled nursing facilities, and community organizations—with a nationwide network of qualified, per diem nurses and clinicians. Since its founding in 2019 and based in Salt Lake City, Nursa has grown to serve more than 3,400 facilities and support over 400,000 nurses across the U.S. The company is accredited by The Joint Commission and continues to innovate in the staffing space by leveraging technology to close gaps in care delivery and reduce the burden on healthcare teams.
