The functionality operates through a guided process. Gemini provides a specific prompt that users can enter into their existing chatbot. The rival system then generates a response containing the user's personal data, which can be copied and pasted back into Gemini. This method helps users efficiently transfer information about their interests, family members, and background, allowing the assistant to bypass the usual retraining phase required to understand a new user. For those wishing to import full conversation logs, Google enables users to upload chat data exported as zip files from other services. Once imported, users can search through these past conversations, facilitating a seamless transition where they can pick up right where they left off without losing context.
