Silversmith Capital Partners Invests $60 Million in SkillCorner

SkillCorner, a Paris-based leader in AI-powered sports analytics, has secured a $60 million growth investment from Silversmith Capital Partners, a Boston-based growth equity firm. This funding marks a pivotal step in the company’s global expansion and reinforces its position as a pioneer in AI-driven sports data. The investment will accelerate SkillCorner’s international deployment of its advanced tracking and performance analytics solutions, which are already used in football, basketball, and American football across professional and collegiate leagues worldwide. Founded in 2016, SkillCorner specializes in automated player, ball, and referee tracking using a single video feed, powered by proprietary computer vision and machine learning technology. The system generates rich, context-aware performance data, including positions that fall outside the camera’s view, enabling teams to gain deeper insights into gameplay. Today, SkillCorner’s technology supports more than 180 competitions globally and is used by over 300 organizations, including top-tier football clubs, national federations, and major sports leagues. The new capital will be used to strengthen SkillCorner’s data engineering and product development teams, expand its footprint in North America, and further innovate its analytics suite. The company aims to deliver more advanced metrics that enhance decision-making in talent scouting, player development, recruitment, and tactical analysis. This growth aligns with the increasing demand for data-driven strategies in professional sports. Charles Montmaneix, Co-Founder and CEO of SkillCorner, expressed excitement about the partnership, calling Silversmith a strategic fit due to its experience in supporting founder-led, high-growth technology companies. He also acknowledged the early support of Seventure Partners, a key investor from the company’s inception. Sri Rao, Managing Partner at Silversmith Capital Partners, praised SkillCorner’s transformative technology, noting its potential to redefine how sports organizations understand and use data. “SkillCorner has built a game-changing solution that transforms how teams capture and leverage performance data,” Rao said. “We see enormous potential in how their data can improve talent identification, strategy, and player development across sports and markets.” The investment comes as sports organizations increasingly rely on AI to gain a competitive edge. SkillCorner’s platform is already used by major football clubs, and the company is rapidly expanding into basketball and American football, both at the professional and collegiate levels. The company continues to operate from its headquarters in Paris, with a growing global team of over 100 employees focused on data quality, innovation, and client support. Silversmith Capital Partners, founded in 2015, manages over $5 billion in assets and specializes in backing high-potential technology and healthcare companies. The firm has a track record of supporting successful founder-led businesses such as Appfire, DistroKid, and LifeStance Health. This investment underscores the growing importance of AI in sports analytics and positions SkillCorner to lead the next wave of innovation in data-driven performance. As the company scales its operations and enhances its product offerings, it is set to play a central role in shaping the future of sports intelligence worldwide.
